When Harry and Emma Clifton hear about their son Sebastian's car accident, they rush to the hospital unsure whether it was their son who died or his best friend Bruno. Meanwhile, Don Pedro schemes to install Major Alex Fisher into Ross Buchanan's seat as the chairman of the Barrington Shipping Company, a seat that Emma desires following Buchanan's forced retirement. The Barrington family firm is threatened by Pedro's intentions just as the firm stands to build its new luxury liner, the MV Buckingham. In London, Harry and Emma's adopted daughter finds love in the Slade Academy of Art. However all delight at the news of the wedding vanishes when an old friend, Lady Virgina Fenwick, appears. Events take a turn when a hitherto unknown Yorkshireman, Cedric Hardcastle, takes a place in the board of Barrington's firm, changing the lives of both families.

“In any conversation, it's often something that seems quite insignificant at the time that gives you the piece of information you're looking for.”
― Jeffrey Archer, Be Careful What You Wish For
For the book cover I have one line to say "It's a piece of art"

Plot and characters
I have to start with saying that I read Jeffery Archer's first from one of my dad's collection and I was hooked. As I rekindled my love with Archer's book recently I am thrilled to have read this book. Why? Okay, I do understand it's hard to grasp the fact that how can I be thrilled to read the 4th book in the series when I haven't read even the 1st one! Well, you point is valid enough and No, I am not usually the person who picks random book from the series but when you get your hands on Archer's book, it's rather hard to wait to read other books first hence I asked my friends to tell me the detailed version of the story and I am thrilled because now I am gonna read all the books in the series and also frown furiously for the wait of 2015! Seriously, I complaint all the time for the wait but it builds anticipation, so yeah I am gonna wait for the Final Instalment very eagerly. Oh How I hate cliffhangers!!

Now coming to the story, It starts exactly from where last book ended and suddenly you are swept away down the mysterious intricate path, new twists and turns are added, there are good buys, The Clifons and the the Barringtons family and then there are deviously very bad guys, as I am not first-handedly acquainted with the lengths Villain in this series can go, I enjoyed it thoroughly.
It starts with Harry Clifton and his wife Emma (they are somewhere in the 1960s) are on their way to the hospital to learn the fate of their son Sebastian, who's been in a serious car accident. He was supposed to die but he didn't, Bruno his friend died. Bruno's father Don Pedro Martinez is now even  more enraged who have always been so bent on destroying the Barringttons. Down at the family's Barrington Shipping Co., Emma wants to replace a board chairman who's been forced to resign, but she loses out to a man who's a shill for the wicked Don Pedro Martinez. The big decision for the business is to be made- risky from a financial standpoint but possibly necessary for the future success of the company. Meanwhile, the Cliftons' adopted daughter Jessica, a highly talented artist, is in London to enter a prestigious art academy and falls in love.
Many new characters are introduced in this book, all intriguing. All the major characters got their individual chapters, what's happening in their lives are laid out in a good pace with tie-ins to each chapter. Fascinating mix of wit and humour that comes up at right moments to lighten up the mood. As the story goes it gets super interesting in the middle and leaves you hanging in mystery again for the next book.

Verdict : A fast paced engrossing page turner, very intricately written with mind blowing twisted mysterious devious plot.
